Eligibility Criteria for Avalara Recruitment Drive 2024
The Global Analytics & Insights (GAI) team is looking for a Data Engineer (YOU) to help implement and maintain our data infrastructure using Snowflake, dbt (Data Build Tool), Python, Terraform, and Airflow. You will report directly to the Director of Data & Analytics Engineering and will learn the ins and outs of Avalara’s financial, sales, and marketing data. To be successful, you will have foundational SQL experience, an understanding of modern data stacks and technology, be data-curious and inquisitive, and have experience working in a collaborative engineering environment. You will work remotely within the US. #LI-Remote

Additionally, you will:
- Develop scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines using dbt, Python, or other ELT tools
- Build scalable, complex dbt models to support a variety of data products
- Implement and maintain scalable data orchestration and transformation, ensuring data accuracy, and consistency
- Collaborate with teams across organizations to understand complex requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Instrument and monitor data quality and performance of various data sets
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field
- You have 2+ years experience in data engineering field, with deep SQL knowledge
- You have 2+ years of working with Git, and demonstrated experience collaborating with other engineers across repositories
- You have 1+ years of working with Snowflake
- You have 1+ years of working with Python
Pay Range Details
The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Colorado $73,600 – $117,800 (annually)
Washington $73,600 – $130,100 (annually)
California $73,600 – $142,500 (annually)
NYC $81,300 – $142,500 (annually)
The pay range above is the general base pay range for you in the state listed. Your actual salary/wage may be based on several factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and your role.
About the Team
The Global Analytics & Insights (GAI) team builds the data infrastructure for Avalara’s core data assets- empowering the organization with accurate data to drive data-backed decisions.
